Fireworks, Main Stage, Food, Beer & Wine Garden and over 100 awesome artists: that’s where we come in. Beat the heat and join us this Fourth of July weekend at the Bartlett Events Center in Big Bear Lake for the 12th Annual Artwalk Festival.
This will be our second year at this event and we are looking forward to returning. Sherry has some beautiful new glass pieces and I have some new Dichroic Jewelry that I will be showing.
I also will be doing “hands-on” demonstrations each day working with Amber. Amber has been prized for centuries as a gemstone, but actually is fossil tree resin about 250 million geologic years old!
We have been home and out of touch for the past three weeks getting caught up and are looking forward to getting back out to see you all. Hope you can come up to Big Bear Lakes for the weekend or for the day. The Artwalk event starts Friday Night and goes through Monday. Sherry stands next to a vintage truck at Manzanar National Historic Site. Pearl Harbor had been attacked by the Empire of Japan, the West coast of America was militarized and all Japanese, citizens or not, were imprisoned. Our visit to Manzinar, earlier in this trip, was moving.
War is a terrible thing based on greed and hate. We honor, with Memorial Day, those that died to protect our freedom.
We are enjoying the art show, here in Bishop. Hope your holiday is rewarding.
We felt the cold wind, the blowing sand sting our face, the isolation and primitive condition US citizens of Japanese decent were forced to endure here at Manzanar detention center during World War II.
Ten’s of thousands were imprisoned in camps like Manzanar across America. Wartime or not, pray constitutional and human rights are never violated like this again.
It is a moving site and part of a Sierra Nevada 395 roadtrip we highly reccomend.
