Bridgeport, California a Big Small Town

Today is set-up day for a new show for us.  The US 395 takes us to Bridgeport, where for decades they have been celebrating our nations birthday with special events.  The celebration starts this weekend with a rodeo and concludes with fireworks Wednesday night, on the 4th of July.  We will part of the main street event and craft show.

No one can make you angry.  You allow yourself to become angry. God says it is okay to get angry – for good cause – but not to let it lead to sin.  I feel anger is a self destructive behavior.  Only you can control your behavior.

Let us use this USA birthday season to positively influence others to be calm and happy.  Happy birthday to the USA and may your holiday week be blessed.

Radiation Fall Out

Amargosa, Nevada monitors for Gamma Radiation as part of the Community Environmental Monitoring Program, as do other communities downwind from the Nevada National Security Site, where nuclear bomb testing was done over 65 years ago.  Emotions run high on either end of the spectrum in regards to this and other nuclear programs.  The long term effects are not forgotten as we strolled in this community last month and stopped to view this monitoring station,

This week we make our annual trip to Bishop, California for the Annual Mule Days.  We will be showing in the Art In the Park event all weekend.  Our booth is near the highway and we will enjoy the parade on Saturday, as well as other fun events in this Eastern Sierra town that will see 30,000 +/- visitors this weekend.

Evershine Pewter Mermaid on Quartz Crystal

Mermaids have a spurious history, at best.  A little girl so wanted a mermaid piece we made years ago but her father told her to look around the rest of the show first.  Well, she came back hours later and bought that mermaid.  Then, she proceeded to tell us how wicked mermaids were and the threat that they were to sailors.  I never knew mermaids had a bad reputation.  But, they are popular.

This weekend we are at Amargosa Days in Amargosa Valley for their annual fair.  It packs a lot of adventure for a small town.  So where is it?  About 90 miles from Las Vegas, in Nevada.  Hope to see you there?
