Hesperia Gem & Mineral Show Nov 21-22

Looking forward to our next show in the high desert community of Hesperia on November 21 and 22. What we miss the most during this pandemic has been seeing people, socializing, meeting old friends and making new ones. We hope that our local friends can come out and visit us. The show is outdoors and lends itself well to social distancing.

The picture above shows the incredible patterning of this Bumble Bee Jasper. This is a couples pendant set. Perfect for a couple or mother/daughter gift. While not really a jasper, it is formed in volcanic vents in Indonesia. Working with this mineral is fun and this is one example of jewelry that we have made during our time of isolation.

The show location? 16808 Main St., Hesperia – on the corner of Main Street and C Avenue. It is in the parking lot of a large shopping mall.

4th of July in Bridgeport, CA

Travertine Onyx can be almost any color. These pieces came out of our most recent batch of tumbling. Each band or ribbon represents the eruption or flow of mineral rich water from a geyser or spring over eons of time. These pieces were collected in the Mojave desert.

We are soon off for our first road trip since the pandemic. Our first destination is Bridgeport, California for their annual 4th of July celebration, then to Utah for a renaissance fair. We like Bridgeport because of all the friendly people, people country and cool weather.

Stay safe. Hope to see you there.

Corona Virus Chilling

Social distancing today as we venture out to do some errands after a week at home. Yard projects, crafts, and Sherry is doing some awesome glass pieces. Some pictures next post. Above is a sample of some rocks we recently finished tumbling. I turned a cement mixer into a tumbler and have three barrel tumblers for finishing. The cement mixer is put away, but the barrel tumblers run seven days a week.

Trust you all are staying well. Our next shows are still up in the air. We are okay with the isolation and elimination of public gatherings. This virus is a real threat and all of us must do our part to slow it down. A big “thank you” to all those that are! May your week be blessed.
