Lake Elsinore Gem and Mineral Show Just Two Days Away

We went rockhounding for fluorite in the Mojave Desert and the first signs were small clear crystals in a wash. After enough exposure to sunlight, fluorite, like most minerals, will lose its color. We scrambled up the hillside and found beautiful seems of emerald green fluorite. It was a good day digging.

Saturday, April 16 we will be in Lake Elsinore for the Lake Elsinore Gem and Mineral Society’s Annual Spring Show. We will have some fluorite obelisks and other gem, mineral, crystal treasures, along with Sherry’s beautiful stained-glass creations. Hope to see you there: 32097 Corydon Rd. 10 am to 4 pm.

Pirate Fest Las Vegas & Healing with Horses

Ahoy, Mateys. The Pirate Fest is set to begin here in Las Vegas and we want to invite you to attend. Most of the shows that we do support non-profit organizations and Pirate Fest is one of those events: The Paradise Ranch Foundation, here in Las Vegas, provides mental healthcare services utilizing the healing therapy of horses. Now how cool is that?

In addition to Pirate, Rennaissance, Steam Punk and all other kinds of themes that provide a family filled fun day (there is also an adult area) that include food, music, comedy, more entertainment and all kinds of neat vendors – like us – selling all kinds of stuff.

So, put on your best Pirate or whatever you like costume and come out this weekend. Tickets can be pre-purchased online and, well just go to the Pirate Fest website for more information. Saturday and Sunday, March 26 & 27 at Craig Ranch Regional Park, here in Las Vegas. Hope to see you here.

Crystals in Lucerne Valley

Sunlight reflects off these Ouachita quartz crystals from Arkansas. These and many others will be available at our next show in Lucerne Valley at Prime Cut Ranch this coming weekend. Quartz crystals have been collected from the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas for centuries. These crystals were forming as what is now North America was drifting across the equator. Known for their clarity, Ouachita crystals are prized by collectors. The crystals pictured above were obtained directly from the miner. We created some “cut base” specimens, meaning we cut off the ragged bottom using a diamond saw to make a crystal that stands erect.

We hope you can join us for this three-day event. The weather is predicted to be desert gorgeous and the event is FREE, fun, outdoors and family oriented.
