“And our flag was still there”

I am happy to live in the United States of America and have our freedom.

June 14th is Flag Day. We fly our flag daily and it is lit at night.

June is a “home” month for us. A lot of yard work, projects, oil changes, had to get new tires, jury duty, a death in the family – and not even halfway through the month. The yard looks good and we enjoy being home in June.

We will end the month with a rockhounding trip hosted by the Lone Pine Gem and Mineral Society, then off to Bridgeport, California for their 160th annual 4th of July celebration. It was a rare event that was NOT cancelled during the pandemic. They have the best fireworks and many events over the four-day weekend.

Hope your summer is blessed.

Bishop Mule Days & the Largest Parade in America

Aura crystals created with gold, titanium, platinum and other precious metals we will have at the show.

The 395 Highway in Bishop is shut down for hours for this parade, the largest non-mechanized parade in America. Animals, of course, including mules, lots of mules and people make this a parade to look forward to event. Mule Days is back in full swing, and we will be there for Art in the Park. The city park is hard to miss, it will be the place, on the highway, with the hundred plus tents setup with art and craft vendors including us, Bustin Glass and Minerals. We are located in the very front of the park, along the highway. To see the parade, we just stand there and watch. Following the parade, the park is flooded with thousands of people. It is a crazy fun show!

We will be there for the Memorial Day weekend, Friday through Monday, May 27-30. Sherry has been hard at work making new and exciting glass pieces. WE have many new mineral and crystal specimens to see, as well. Hope to see you there.

CFMS Show in Lancaster This Mother’s Day Weekend

After three years of cancelled shows the California Federation of Mineralogical Societies (Rock Clubs) is having its annual show, hosted by the Antelope Valley Gem and Mineral Society in Lancaster, CA at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds. This show is free, open to the public and the parking, usually $5, is free as well – and indoors. Indoors is great as Lancaster is often windy and hot this time of year. Reading the flyer and speaking with the show director from the club tells us a lot is going on. This show is for the causal or die-hard rockhound and rock lover. There is something for all ages, singles, couples and families. As vendors, Sherry and I will have our portable store set-up for your enjoyment.

We hope to see you there as we showcase some awesome new crystals and minerals, as well as Sherry’s beautiful glass work. If you are into jewelry, come and see our beautiful new turquoise collection of pendants and earrings.

We also want to extend a Happy Mother’s Day greeting to all of you mothers, stepmothers, stepped on or stepped over mothers! Enjoy your day and remember, we all would not be here if we did not have mothers.

Stained glass art, minerals, crystals, pewter, turquoise, jewelry.
