Bubblegum Opal

IMG_5852

We collected this “bubblegum” opal in Utah a few years back.  I shaped the stone and Sherry completed the metal work around it. Then added it to a necklace of colorful glass beads.  Depending on your screen, double clicking the image will enlarge it to show the crystal pockets within the stone within the swirls of color.  The material was formed eons ago from outflow of a mineral hot springs.

While most people are planning for their Super Bowl Sunday, we will be in Yuma for a Blues music festival.  Hope your week is blessed.

Its about relationships

This gift appeared in our order, hand delivered to us. My mom made this for you two because she knows you are nurses, she told us. We all like to get a good deal, but there is more to our business than money.  Our Evershine Pewter is made here in the USA by this family owned business. Customer service and friendships, relationships. Thank you for our gift.

Bustin Glass and Minerals to Boogie in Yuma

My daughter and son-in-law are musicians, performers, in Las Vegas, but work jobs teaching music in order to pay the bills.  Most musicians do not make that much money and play for the love of their music.  Their most valued “remuneration” is the applause/appreciation by the audience.   We enjoy showing and vending at these events and like the musicians, do not make much money.  We enjoy the music and meeting new people.  This will be our second time at this event that premiered last year.

Blues fans are affectionately called “Blues Heads.” Blues and Jazz are the only two types of music festivals that we have done.  They attract a more mature audience, like us.   The weather should be great and we hope to rockhound as well.  Yuma, is the same distance for us as a drive to Las Vegas.  We are blogging  this ahead for those that may be tempted to boogie on down!
