Two Men Pulling a Red Wagon in Quartzsite

During a lull in the show recently I asked Sherry if we could pray. Among other things asking for a blessing for us that day. She made us some lunch and we sat behind our booth in the sun of this beautiful Arizona winter day.

Shortly after, two men came up to our booth, one of them pulling a red wagon with a piece of equipment in it. “Now that’s a sight you don’t often see,” I exclaimed. “Most of the time the wagon has a dog in it or maybe a child.” After some small talk we learned that these two men were selling the diamond wire saw seen here in the picture. They carved stone into pistol grips for guns and knife handles and found this particular saw not suited for the hard rock. It was designed to cut glass.

Now just before we left home for Quartzsite, Sherry reminded that she needed to order a new blade for her diamond glass cutting saw. The band blade of her saw had a tendency to break and being expensive, she wanted to look into another alternative. The saw the men were selling was perfect for what she needed. They related that this was their first time to visit Quartzsite, that our booth was the first one they came to after parking their car. And that they were not even going to take the saw out of the car and wheel it around. The price was well under what was fair for this lightly used machine. We were able to plug it in and test it.

Now that was the blessing prayed for without even knowing what was needed to be blessed with that day. Thank you, God. This story is to relate the blessing and power of prayer in our lives and to encourage all of us to pray.

We hope to see you here. Safe, fun and outdoors, we are at Tyson Wells, space V3-6

Quartzsite: No Place Like It

The arrow is pointing to our RV and tents set-up early, before the Rock Show at Tyson Wells in Quartzsite, Arizona in January of 2022. We are setting up at the same location for most all of January 2023, row V, spaces 3-6 both for the Rock Show and the Sell-A-Rama. Tyson Wells is located on Kuehn Avenue, across from the “Big Tent,” that boasts the largest RV show in America. The town of Quartzite is bisected by Interstate 10, seen here, across the top of the picture. Tyson Wells is just one of many show locations in this sleepy desert town that explodes with thousands of people in the winter.

In addition to rocks, minerals, crystal, jewelry, the show boasts selling of almost everything along 2.2 miles of aisles. The show includes entertainment and various food vendors. I recall bringing my son here many years ago for a weekend of camping. We would ride our bikes around town. I never imagined, back then, that I would become a vendor, along with my wife Sherry.

There are many websites that talk about Quartzsite and its events. Here is a link to a recent article about Quartzsite, the source of the picture, above: https://www.desertusa.com/dusablog/quartzsite-az/

Safe, fun and outdoors. Plan to visit in January, for the day, weekend, or more. There are several RV parks, free public lands camping and motels in nearby Blythe, California.

Hope to see you in Quartzsite. Happy New Year.

It is Okay to Believe: Our Christmas Letter to You

This year at one of our shows we met Dr Robert “Bob” Wright the director of the Flood Museum and author of the book “A Flood of Hope: It’s Okay to Believe,” along with his lovely wife Carol.  Bob is a retired Navy Nuclear Engineer on fast attack submarines.  Bob and Carol are devoted to spreading the gospel by focusing on the truth of Noah and the world-wide flood of the Bible.  I highly recommend this easy to read, science-based book.

Visiting with family, old friends, and making new ones, like the Wrights, is what makes our travels to sell our craft so much fun.  Craft Fairs, Art Shows, Gem & Mineral Shows and Renaissance Fairs throughout California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah all provide an eclectic cross section of America.  We live in an awesome country!

We have been touched this year by the milestones and achievements of friends and family:  births, deaths, illnesses, recoveries, engagements, and weddings.  The Viking-Themed wedding of our Son Isaac and his wife Brittany was quite the event that we were able attend:  the bride was beautiful in her elegant flowing dress, accompanied by her costumed groom and their six children.

We relish news from family and friends as we are all challenged to stay in touch.  Thank you, to those that do!  Precious memories that go into what we call a lifetime.

How will we be remembered?

Among others, our dear friend and family member, Pat, passed away, as many of you know.  She, like Tabatha of the Bible2 was remembered for her many acts of charity, including her quilts, crafts and her fudge!  Peter raised Tabatha from the dead and the story concludes “and many believed in the Lord.”

Our hope and prayer for 2023 is that you are enjoying the blessing of being a child of God, his promise to meet all our needs and give us peace, in addition to the promise of eternal life, through his son, Jesus Christ.

Our Love, Sherry and Tim

PS We will be in Quartzsite for most of January and our show schedule will be updated as we confirm our 2023 calendar. Have a safe and spirit filled holiday!
