From the fireworks that are awesome, to the snow capped mountains, Bridgeport knows how to do it best. For 161 years they have been celebrating our Independance Day and it gets better each year.

We are here for their annual event that includes so much to see and do that the attached flyer is dizzying to look at. We are showing at hte street fair hope you can be a part of this truly amazing event.

There is also a rodeo held for two days.

Lapis is found in the burial mask of King Tutankhamen as well as in the video game Minecraft. Usually, a young man will come into our booth, see the lapis, and readily identify it from the game. A silicate mineral, lapis gets its blue color, in part to aluminum within its composition. And inclusions of yellow pyrite and calcium add diversity of color.

Purchased by the barrel, we obtained a great price and resell it at a price that makes other dealer jealous. Afghanistan has often been the major importer of lapis. But our purchase was made from an importer of lapis of Northern Pakistan, another source of quality material.

A bit of a treasure hunt as we unload and open each individually wrapped piece. The polished slab featured in this post caught my eye and now lives an a stand in our kitchen.

The largest non-mechanized parade in the country will include the famous 20 Mule Team will be here. We are here for Art in the Park. Our space is right next to the sidewalk on Hwy 395. The parade is Saturday, which means we have the best viewing site, ever. And we are here through Monday, with live entertainment in the park on Sunday, as well.
