Tons of Rock Fell Where They Had Been Sitting

Landscape Arch, Arches National Park

Hearing what they thought was the crack of thunder just minutes before rocks began to rain from above.  Visitors had been resting just below Landscape Arch minutes before tons of rock fell from the worlds widest natural arch.  Thankfully they moved in time and no one was hurt on that September day in 1991.

Here, Sherry rests after we hiked up to see this one-of-a-kind geologic wonder in Arches National Park in Utah.  The Navajo Sandstone of this area is sculpted by wind, rain and variations of the weather, year after year.  I wonder how long it will be before it disappears forever?

Enter the Ancient Gateway?

Bryce Canyon National Park

An ancient castle arch and crumbling battlements greet us as we come upon this site within Bryce Canyon National Park, here in Utah a few days ago.  Perhaps my imagination runs away with me or I am still in Renaissance mode.  Either way, we have been blessed by the plethora of geologic wonders over the past few days.

Have you ever attended a Renaissance Faire?

A world of medieval fantasy was created in the park of Cedar City Utah this past week.  A world of knights, ladies, royalty, sword fight, cannons exploding, music, food and fun were a part of this event that we had the pleasure of being a part.  Sherry is pictured here working on her craft.

We had a great show and are enjoying some of Utah’s awesome landscape.  Hope your week is blessed,
