The picture may appear to be up-side-down, but it is not. This scene caught my eye today at the pool/spa complex of the RV resort we are staying at, here in Las Vegas. Mom had been in the hospital for almost one month a nd went home yesterday and is doing well. We plan to return to California tomorrow and get ready for upcoming shows: Our upcoming show schedule.
Life, at times, seems to be turned up-side-down, but can bring unexpected blessings. This week we met some interesting people. A man who runs a retired K-9 dog sanctuary, he himself a retired SWAT officer of 24 years was in town teaching K-9 classes. A Purple Heart recipient and his wife that rock climb as he begins work on an advanced college degree, a miracle of recovery after wounds received fighting for our freedom. We thank you for your service.
If you spend time in nature, alone and quiet, a subtle breeze or wind can play tricks on your mind and make you think you hear voices. A moan or cry are common examples as air moves in an around rocks, trees and such. Add to this the sounds of animals and insects, an active imagination and the possibilities are endless.
Some native American Indians believed that there were good and bad spirits in the air and created “dream catchers,” to help control them and the effects on their dreams and sleep. Good spirits passed through and bad spirits were caught in the web of the dream catcher and destroyed with the rising sun.
May your dreams be good and the next time you are out in nature, take time to listen.
500 million geologic years ago Las Vegas was at the bottom of an ocean. The marine fossil above died and settled to the bottom, leaving this impression, now a fossil 250 million or more geologic years old. It now sits 3,500 feet above sea level. The magnitude of creation and the resulting geologic transformations over time seem best appreciated out of doors.
The weather here has been mild and we have been enjoying nature, visiting with family and Sherry found some good deals on stained glass. Mom is doing much better and should be home soon. Amen.
Hope your weekend is blessed.
