Bishop Art in the Park Together With Mule Days Memorial Day Weekend

The desert gives way to sweeping vistas and snowcapped mountains as we drive up US 395 into the Eastern Sierra Nevadas, one of the most scenic drives in America. I have said more than once that this drive is good mental health therapy for whatever does or does not ail you.

We will be taking this drive for a Memorial Day weekend show in Bishop city park for the art and craft show help in conjunction with the annual Mule Days events held at the fairgrounds and throughout the city of Bishop. The show is hosted by the local non-profit arts council and we enjoy supporting local groups as we travel. The largest parade of its type in the country takes place and our booth is located just a few feet away from the parade route.

Whether or not you need a mental break, consider a trip to Bishop for the mules, the art, the great outdoors. Safe, fun, free and outdoors for the entire family. Hope to see you there.

Lancaster Gem & Mineral Show This Weekend

The Antelope Valley Gem and Mineral Society will host their annual show at the Lancaster Fairgrounds this weekend, May 4-5. Sunday, May 5, there will also be a Cinco De Mayo event at the fairgrounds, as well. The rock show is free and parking is free for this event. Supporting local clubs makes doing shows like this all the more fun for us.

Joshua Tree Gem & Mineral Show This Week

Years ago, outside of Joshua Tree National Park, before it was a national park, was the “rock” show. It was hosted by a local gem and mineral society and held at a local campground for decades. The club faded away and the campground was sold. The show found a new home, at a new campground, still in Joshua Tree. The first show in the new location was held in the fall of 2023 and was a great success. The Spring show will be held at the Josua Tree Lake RV & Campground, this week. It is a five day show from Wednesday through Sunday, April 24 – 28. Almost 40 vendors will have rock, gems, minerals, jewelry. The show targets families and rock enthusiasts of all ages. Beginner collectors, advanced collectors, lapidary artist, rough rock, finished rock – you cannot be disappointed. Safe, fun, FREE admission and FREE parking, and outdoors. Hope to see you there!
