Joshua Tree is known for its rocks and its rock show!

Joshua Tree National Park is known for its rocks, or better yet, its boulders for rock scrambling and its rock climbing. We are in Joshua Tree at the Joshua Tree Lake RV Park for our twice-a-year Gem and Mineral Show, Wed-Sunday, October 1-5. 40+ vendors with rock, crystal, jewelry and other related items gather with something for everyone. Free parking and free admission, food vendors and more. We look forward to this show every year as we have family that live in the area, see old friends and make new. Not yet a friend? Stop by and say hello. The flyer below has details.

Traveling recently, back on the East coast to visit family, we had a great time. The trip was exhausting with delayed flights and two weeks we slept in five different beds. We travelled by plane, train, bus and car, seeing family, aunts, uncles, cousins, some off which we have not seen since we were children. It was fun.

We are back now, cut the grass and other household tasks. Next, we turn to stocking the RV with supplies and merchandise. Sherry is busy making new glass pieces and I need to replace some popular earrings, as well. After Joshua Tree we are off to Las Vegas for a spectacular Rennaissance Fair. More on that later.

Bridgeport, California Celebrating the 4th of July for 163 Years

This little town swells to thousands of people for the 4th of July and after 163 years they know how to do it right. From awesome fireworks to just about any activity you would like – it is here. As you can see from their calendar of events there is fun for all ages all week. Thursday through Sunday, July 3 through 6 we will be set-up next to the courthouse for the craft fair.

We visited Bodie State Park this week and took the Stamp Mill tour. This state park is an arrested ghost town from the late 1800’s where gold and silver were mined. In today’s dollars it would be abut 9.3 billion dollars in gold alone. Bodie is a 20-mile ride from Bridgeport and worth a visit.

The day before we drove up to Carson City and met family for lunch. We had a great time. Each show that we do is an adventure and we are loving it. Hope to see you here.

80 Different Kinds of Mules in Bishop

For decades mules have been bought, sold, showed, bred, traded and more here in Bishop California. With 80 different varieties, I wonder how many will be here. For over a decade we have been showing at the Art in the Park event at Bishop City Park. On Saturday we will be treated to the largest non-mechanized parade in America, as our spot in the park in along the highway 395.

Sherry is showing some new glass pieces, and we have more rocks, crystals and fossil to show, as well. Our collection of handmade jewelry, including our turquoise collection will be available.

A road trip up the 395 through the Sierra Nevada Mountains is always refreshing. We look forward to friends old and new. Safe, fun and outdoors. Stop by and say hello.

Friday through Monday, May 23-26 at the Bishop City Park. Come enjoy Bishop at its best.
